They call this the American Riviera. Maybe a few miles away in Montecito or SB, that feels more true, but from inside my cabin, ensconced within a private 20 acre oak forest with majestic views of the surrounding hillside orchards as they roll toward the ocean, and with access to horse trails that wind through the bucolic horse ranches and polo fields, it seems to me more like Tuscany. Okay, that was pretentious, especially being only 88 miles from Los Angeles, but come stay and then call me a liar! “Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.” – Sam Keen

This is the epicenter of SB polo. During polo season, the pastures along the hiking trails get full of spirited horses, and you can watch practice matches from the sidelines as you hike down to one of the most beautiful beaches in the area - Loon Point. Summerland is the closest town, and has a very small town feel, but main street is lined with H+G shops that are nationally reknown. All the Summerland beaches are beautiful, and very dog friendly. The neighborhood is a only a few short miles in either direction from the legendary surf capital of Carpinteria and the affluent celebrity enclave of Montecito.
