Welcome to Chalet 86! The chalet is a newly updated home nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks. Right off Route 86 in Wilmington, you’ll be centrally located to many popular activities and attractions, including Whiteface Mountain (3 mins) and Lake Placid (15 mins). Whether you’re coming to enjoy nature, seek adventure or to simply relax, you’ll find everything you need under the chalet’s signature red roof. A cozy retreat updated with modern tech ensures you’ll have an incredible stay.
Chalet 86 is a charming 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom mountain retreat, ideal for year-round adventures. Featuring a range of conveniences, this getaway ensures a delightful stay. The chalet includes a well-equipped kitchen, complete with a gas stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, Keurig, and various cooking amenities. The island and a four-seater dining table nook enhance the culinary experience. There is a vaulted ceiling with a light and fan can be adjusted via remote control.
The bedrooms offer comfort and style, with a king-sized bed in the master and a queen-sized bed in the second room. Both rooms include wall heaters with remotes, dressers, linens, extra quilts/blankets, pillows, nightstands, and bedside lamps.
The bathroom features an updated shower/bath, along with new fixtures, luxury bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and essential toiletries.
The utility room houses a new washing machine and dryer, detergent, and cleaning supplies.
The den boasts a 43-inch 4K smart TV for streaming entertainment. A heater in the den efficiently warms the entire chalet.
Outside, the large wraparound deck with Adirondack chairs provides a peaceful setting. Outdoor string lights add ambiance, perfect for creating memories.
Additional amenities include keyless entry, a security camera for safety, and the exclusion of pets. While there is a wood stove in the chalet (not in use), exceptions may be considered. Note the newly planted lawn surrounding the deck.

Whiteface Mountain: Located just minutes away, Whiteface offers year-round adventures. In winter, it's a skier's paradise, while summer/fall visitors can hike to the summit for panoramic views, take a gondola ride or cruise the gorgeous Veterans’ Memorial Highway (through Oct. 9).
Lake Placid: A short drive away, Lake Placid is famous for hosting the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980. Explore the Olympic Museum, paddle on the pristine Mirror Lake, wander the quaint Main Street and explore locally owned shops and restaurants. The town also has grocery and convenience stores for any needs that arise.
Hiking and Biking: The Adirondacks boast numerous trails for all skill levels. Which High Peak will you hike first? Or maybe you’re aiming to complete all 46 and become a “46er.” Don't miss the breathtaking High Falls Gorge for a picturesque hike.
Wilmington Flume Trails: The Flume Trail System is comprised of approximately ten miles of trails open to mountain biking, hiking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. The trails can be accessed via the Flume Trailhead, located approximately 2 miles south of the village center on Route 86, or the Bear Den Trailhead at Whiteface Mountain.
Wilmington Town Beach: Enjoy swimming, picnicking, and kayaking at the nearby town beach on Lake Everest.
Ausable River: If you enjoy fly fishing (trout!), it doesn’t get much better than this world-famous river. There is hand access at points along Route 86.
Fall Foliage: Witness the stunning fall foliage, a must-see during autumn in the Adirondacks.
Kid-Friendly: Attractions like Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole, the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge, Lake Placid Sleigh Rides, Boots & Birdies Miniature Golf and the John Brown Farm State Historic Site are must-do’s with kids.
