This 1908 flat is three connected bedrooms, with a total of 12 beds. There's a full kitchen and bath. It's only a 10-minute walk to the ferry, and there are nice restaurants around in this very quiet neighborhood. The city requires me to limit adults to four, with any number of guests under twenty-one, but I have never yet checked I.D.s. Is that wrong?

I taught high school in Los Angeles and am now enjoying my easy retirement in the Big Easy, where I moved to be near my family; the Coast Guard sent my son here in 2004, he fell in love both with the city and with a "Cajin Queen" (albeit one with a PhD.), and so I retired here myself, anf what a bit of good luck it was for me. This is a city with lots to see and do, and I'll do what I can to make your stay a memorable one.

Algiers point is a historic district across the river from downtown and the French Quarter. Only once, last spring when the river was alarmingly high, did a big (verybig) alligator rise out of the Mississippi and trot across my lawn. Other then that, the only danger is getting lost in the narrow streets of Algiers Point after a Pimms Cup at the Crown and Anchor English pub just two short blocks away, or after hearing a local band (with a local beer in hand) at the ancient Old Point Bar (six blocks). There are three good breakfast /lunch cafes within three blocks, and two just OK restaurants at the ferry dock (a 10 minute walk on the bike path on top of the levy, which you can see from your front door.
