The Loft is a spacious Deluxe 2 room Suite on the 3rd floor of the Northey Street House B&B. A union of old and new. Separated by a door, the Suite has a historical (living room/2nd bedroom) room with a blue couch that converts to a queen bed when needed and a twin bed. The room reflects the 3rd floor lower ceiling of the Federal style architecture. The other room is a 2003 addition room with cathedral ceiling featuring Mid-Century Modern Penthouse vibe with glass sliders, skylights, and private deck overlooking the rear garden. There is an interior entry and a sliding patio exterior door egress to the 3rd floor private deck. The Loft has a spacious en-suite with a tub/shower combination. In the Summer, the Westerly winds come thru this back side of the house providing cool breezes. On Halloween night, it has THE best windows for watching the closing fireworks off the North River. Each room has a state-of-the-art mini-split or air source heat pump that regulates cooling or heating for your personal comfort as you control the zoned temperature. It also has a micro-ban air filter that filters out 99.9% of germs. The Loft room has additional safe, soft radiant heat, low wattage wall mounted supplemental heaters. The historical room features the original 18th century architectural fireplace mantle, original doors and trims. The antique mirrors, period prints, and nautical touches really takes you back to the 18th century maritime working seaport that was Salem. 100% cotton towels, hair dryer and toiletries are provided. The closet has iron & board, extra towels, pillows, & blankets. We use only hotel quality premium down and 100% cotton bedding. All bedding are covered by high quality allergen protectors.

We’re only 7 minutes walk to the beach, 8 minutes walk to the train, and a short 10-15 minutes walk to downtown, the Salem Common, Salem Witch Museum,the world class Peabody Essex Museum, and other Witch museums, Salem’s Derby Wharf, Pickering Wharf, Salem Maritime National Historic Site, all major attractions, restaurants, and unique local arts & shops. The Salem Train Depot is just a few blocks away to take you into Boston in 30 minutes or North to scenic Cape Anne (Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester By the Sea).

Northey Street House is situated in the Bridge Street Neck Historic District, between the North River and Collins Cove. It is where European colonists Roger Conant and 15 men and their families known as the Old Planters first settled in 1626. The penninsula starts at the intersection of 3 very historical places namely The Salem Jail (1813 to 1991), Monopoly Manufacturing Plant (1883 to 1994), and Howard Street Cemetery (2nd oldest & where Giles Corey was infamously pressed to death) and goes up to the Salem to Beverly Bridge where the new (2016) Remond Park & Pier is located.
