You are able to drive to within 125' of the treehouse. From there the walk is a bit sloped, to flat and staired areas, to a bridge traversing 50' to the stairs leading up to the entry and 8' x 12' screen porch. There is a gondola to carry your luggage, groceries, ski boots, etc. to the deck.

It was always Rick's dream to build a treehouse, ever since he went to Disney at 18 -- The first time walking the property he knew this was going to be the place he would build the treehouse. "I've built 5000 square foot homes in 6 months that took way less work than this tree house," Rick says. Stellahouse is named for his boxer, Stella who has become somewhat of a Tik Tok sensation with her videos talking about the treehouse that's named for her. Rick will also be happy to show you how the tree house was built, and how it attaches to the trees. "When the wind blows, you'll feel it," he says, "It's built to withstand 115 mph winds and a 90 lb snow load, and the highest seismic conditions - or all at once." Rick will also be happy to share his insights about the area, places to go, fun things to do, some insider tips for skiers, and great trails and ponds for you and your fur family.

Western Maine has an abundance of outdoor activities for all seasons. Alpine and cross-country skiing are nearby at Sunday River, family-friendly Black Mountain, and Mt. Abram, and Carter's X-C Skiing. Western Maine's lakes and rivers for water sports, boating, fishing kayaking, and relaxing are world renowned for their beauty and clarity. Hiking is everywhere and within an hour or so are the White Mountains Presidential Range, Appalachian Trail, and Rangeley. The quaint towns of Bethel and Rumford are close by for shopping and dining. Bethel is a local foodie paradise! And there are many scenic byways to drive nearby. There are also many local festivals and arts performances throughout the year.
