There’s something about the Wapiti View Cabin that makes you feel extra connected to your friends and family. Kind of like those herds of wapiti, or elk, that cross through the area every spring and fall. Settle in, stay awhile, and make memories in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Our cabin is located 28 minutes from the western gates of Yellowstone National Park and is a spacious home base for trips into the Park, fishing, hiking, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and beyond.
Wapiti View Cabin is located in the quiet gateway community of Island Park. Great central location close to a gas station, grocery store, restaurants, and a handful of outdoor access points: West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park (seasonal access open generally from the third Friday of April through the second Monday of November): 28 minutes Henry’s Fork / Big Springs: 5-10 minutes Targhee National Forest: 7 minutes Island Park Reservoir/Henery's Lake: 15 minutes Town of West Yellowstone: 25 minutes Upper & Lower Mesa Falls: 35 minutes Caribou-Targhee National Forest: 52 minutes Skiing (Big Sky/Grand Targhee): 1 hour 40 minutes Grand Teton National Park: 2.5 hours Given Island Park's remote location, we encourage guests to have a car (with four-wheel drive and/or chains for the winter
