Won't you come and visit my Cape Cod oasis? My home is a 2100 square foot, Cape style, 4-season, 2-level home situated on a private half acre of perpetually blooming gardens. The house boasts large, sun-filled rooms with lots of windows that make it feel much larger than its actual size. Decorated in a casually chic style, earth tones dominate the palette as sandy beiges and warm whites intermingle with blues of the sea and sky, as well as bright warm yellows of the noon day sun.
Greetings! I am single retired professional (software engineer) and new member of the cancer survivors club. I am well traveled and hard working, but looking to shift my life balance more toward living in the present. I hope to work less and travel more. I am an adventurous sort who likes to explore new places, enjoys cycling, kayaking, running and other outdoor activities. I'd be honored to share my home and my community with you. Conversely, I'd treat your home with the same respect that you do :-)
My home is perfectly situated in a quiet, classic Cape Cod neighborhood, but the many amenities of my 'resort' town are located nearby. The ocean is located a quarter mile away as the crow flies. It's a third of mile to the boat/kayak launch into West Falmouth Harbor by road. My 'home' beach (Chapoquoit Beach) is 1.2 miles from the house. (It should be noted that parking is residents-only at Chappy Beach, so you should walk, bike, or shuttle there). The popular Old Silver Beach and Seacrest Resort are approximately a two mile drive.
If you enjoy biking, walking, great ocean views, etc, the new Shining Sea Bikeway is a mere 600 yards from the house. The all purpose path is nearly 11 miles long as it winds through forests, cranberry bogs, and salt marshes with some spectacular vistas on it's way south to the picturesque hamlet of Woods Hole. (The path terminates at the ferry to Martha's Vineyard).
If you're a runner, join us in August for the world famous Falmouth Road Race which attracts a world class field or in October for the Cape Cod Marathon on one of the most scenic marathon courses you'll ever run.
Downtown Falmouth with its great restaurants and numerous shops is less than ten minutes from the house by car. Scenic Woods Hole is located a mere 15 minutes away by car and sports many great restaurants, an aquarium, the famous Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, as well as picturesque Nobska Lighthouse. The ferry also steams out of Woods Hole for those interested in a day trip to Martha's Vineyard!
As if there isn't enough to do within 15 minutes of the house, those traveling from farther abroad my be surprised to know that the big cities of Boston and Providence are relatively close. Maps tells me that my home is only an hour and a quarter to Boston's South Station. Providence is slightly closer at just over an hour of travel time. There's not a great distance between bucolic Cape Cod and the cities, but they feel worlds apart.
