The idea for a B&B type room initially came to mind after I was hospitalised last year, and saw how many people from out of town were treated there, having to report at 05:30 for their procedure! The hospital is less than 4km from my house so I decided why not set up an overnight facility at my house that can be much more homely than a cold hotel room and close to a few good hospitals. It is situated centrally in Pretoria East so ideal for staying if you have to attend a conference or a business meeting but do not fancy hotels, like me. As a free bonus the early risers will be treated to a beautiful unhindered sunrise view every morning, which is fairly rare in the city.

I have been living in Pretoria for most of my adult life and I love the city and its people. I work full time and on week ends I like to visit friends, potter in the garden or just create or do things for the joy of it - be it to give an old chair a face lift with paint and re-upholstery or be involved in a project to expose young people to the beautiful craft of quilting. But then I also love a good game of 30 Seconds, or ballroom classes...I love life, and I believe we should all do what we can to make it a pleasant journey with our special talents, and each person has special talents.

This is a quiet established neighborhood with lots of birdlife and quite green! There is the Moreletapark Nature Reserve very closeby, where I have gone many a Sunday morning for an early 5km walk in nature, there are a few buck species, zebra etc. to see, even a bird hide, where you can quietly sit and observe and just relax. For the more vibrant folks there are movies, a live music theatre, a 'Bounce' arena, an ice rink and many good restaurants to visit - all of them within a radius of 8 - 10km.
