Amanzi Empilo means “healing waters” in the native Xhosa language and is a true description of the location of the bungalow. It is hidden away around the bends of the Bell River. It is a mere stone’s throw away from the river which makes it the perfect break away for the fly-fisherman and mountain lover. This river stone bungalow caters for 4 people (+ 1 extra). One double bed and one bunker bed that is custom made from the grey poplar trees on the farm. It is equipped for self-catering with warm water and gas stove and a gas freezer. The water is from a source in the mountains and suitable for drinking. Enjoy the spectacular view from the huge deck whilst having a braai, watching the bird life or listening to the water as it flows between the rocks.

We are the proud owners of this beautiful farm, Grace Hill. Received as a Blessing we make the best of the opportunity to live in these pristine mountains and love to share it with guests in need of a break away from the city life. We are both outdoor and sports people, love running, biking, horse riding, fishing and gardening.

The bungalow is private and falls on the property of Grace Hill farm. It is 1km off the main gravel road that passes the farm house. The farm is 4km east of Rhodes village in the Eastern Cape Highlands. The mountains that surround the bungalow are the Southern Drakensberg, Maluti and the Witteberge. Naude’s Nek pass is the highest pass in South Africa (2580m) and the base of the pass is just 8km away from the bungalow.
