My place is close to the breathtaking De Hoop Nature Reserves white beaches, travelers hotspot Malagas with the pont, bush pub and boathouse restaurant. It's the perfect location to stay for a week and enjoy everything the area of Swellendam and Overberg has on offer. You’ll love Die Blouhuis because of the uniqueness of staying in a old-styled farm house without electricity. There is however a gas stove+oven, gas fridge+freezer, solarheated water and some candles to make your stay comfortable. Die Blouhuis is remote and therefor very peaceful, private and safe - perfect retreat for couples, solo adventurers and families, especially kids.
Die Blouhuis is situated on a working farm 35km from Swellendam. Argricultural activities in the area mainly focus on grain - wheat, canola, barley - and sheep. It is exeptionally picturesque in winter season when the fields are a 1,000 shades of green and colour. It is very plattelands and the simplicity of life here will recharge your soul. Please stock up on groceries in the last town before driving to the farm. Come and experience starry nights around a bon fire and have a good nights rest in our quiet environment. Die Blouhuis is very private; just you and nature! The gravel roads is suitable for all vehicles. If there is traffic coming from the front or behind, I suggest you slow down and make way for larger vehicles that travels faster and knows the roads. They will respect your car also.
