Donkerhoek Country Living offers a 12-sleeper, self-catering home in a beautiful bushveld area only 20 minutes from Pretoria. The house has two double bedrooms, one room with 2 bunk beds (i.e. four beds), a sleeper couch and two child beds. With a big barbecue and a lovely deck area, we offer the ideal family weekend getaway. We are proudly fully sustainable with an off-grid solar system and a rainwater harvesting system. Look forward to peace and quite in beautiful surroundings. Unwind with a hike in the surroundings, bird watching or having a sunset picnic. And, we are PET FRIENDLY!

We are on solar power so you might experience a power outage if it rains a lot - we have a back-up generator for rainy days. High wattage equipment like the iron, dishwasher and hair dryers can only be used during 10:00 am and 16:00 pm. The high pressure pump that supplies water to the house is off between 22:00 pm - 7:00 am - shower before or after this! There will be water in the taps, just not high pressure. There is no microwave or wifi and we do not offer cleaning services. Our dogs, cats, horses and bees also live on the property but will not be in your fenced area - guests are requested not to enter this area without being escorted by one of the hosts. The house has a camera system which will be off in the immediate vicinity of the house during your visit except for key security points. Guests are advised not to interact with any wildlife as we are in a natural environment.

We are in a rural area with lots of plots/farm lands. Cullinan offers good restaurants as well as a visit to the diamond mine. Willem Prinsloo Agricultural museum is a few minutes away and grocery shopping can be done in Rayton. Pretoria East has everything needed and is about 30km from us.
