The house is stunning, a lovely wine farm house with everything you need. The host added a nice touch of giving us two complimentary wine bottles.

Tucked away on the picturesque Escape Wines estate in the heart of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, this elegant private villa offers an unforgettable escape into the serenity of nature, luxury, and fine wine. With four beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, the villa is designed for ultimate comfort and privacy, making it the perfect getaway for families or groups of friends looking to relax, rewind, and recharge. The villa is situated on a working wine farm and provides a seamless blend of rustic charm and modern sophistication. Guests can enjoy exclusive access to "THE AFDAK" tasting room, open from Wed to Sat between 10h00 and 16h00, where award-winning Escape Wines can be savoured. The property boasts spectacular scenery, with panoramic views of a private lake framed by lush vineyards and rolling hills. Mornings begin with breathtaking sunrises casting a golden hue over the water, while evenings invite you to bask in the beauty of vivid sunsets with a glass of wine in hand. The villa features cozy indoor fireplaces for chilly evenings, an inviting outdoor fire pit overlooking the lake for stargazing, and a secluded barbecue area perfect for long, lazy lunches and sunset dinners. The house is equipped with all the amenities needed for a luxurious self-catering stay, ensuring both comfort and convenience. Adding to the natural splendour of the estate, the farm also cultivates striking Proteas. These iconic South African blooms can be admired throughout the year, with their dramatic colours and textures adding to the estate’s charm. Plan your visit during harvest season, from February to mid-April, for a glimpse into the grape-picking process, or year-round to witness the vibrant Proteas in bloom. Whether you're sipping wine by the fire, exploring the farm, or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere, this villa offers the perfect setting for reconnecting with nature—and each other.

Within 15 minutes of Hermanus, situated on the Escape Wines farm. It is the only house on the farm and completely private. Hermanus, a charming coastal town in the Western Cape of South Africa, is world-renowned for its exceptional land-based whale watching, unspoiled beaches, and scenic beauty. Located just under two hours’ drive from Cape Town, this vibrant town is nestled between majestic mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, offering a diverse range of experiences for nature lovers, food enthusiasts, and culture seekers alike. One of the town’s crown jewels is the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley—aptly named “Heaven and Earth”—a lush and fertile region that stretches inland from Hermanus into the Overberg Mountains. The valley is home to some of South Africa’s finest cool-climate wine estates, many of which produce award-winning wines. In Hermanus itself, the Cliff Path is a must-visit—a 12-kilometre coastal trail that offers panoramic views of Walker Bay and, during whale season (June to November), front-row seats to the acrobatic displays of southern right whales. The Old Harbour Museum, located in the heart of town, provides a fascinating glimpse into Hermanus’s fishing heritage and the evolution of its maritime culture. Art lovers can stroll through Lemm’s Corner and the Hermanus Art Walk, where local galleries showcase the region’s artistic flair. For food lovers, Hermanus does not disappoint. The area boasts a diverse culinary scene, from fine dining at The Restaurant at Newton Johnson, to seaside eateries like Bientang's Cave, built into a rocky cliff and overlooking the ocean. The Hermanus Country Market, held every Saturday, is a local favourite for artisanal food, crafts, and live music. Nature enthusiasts can also venture into the Fernkloof Nature Reserve, which offers a rich display of indigenous fynbos and well-maintained hiking trails.
