Property information

Mount High is situated on the Natalshoop Farm, high up in the mountains of the South African province of Mpumalanga. The farm is also home to an array of species showcasing this country’s fauna and flora to perfection. In addition to some spectacular vegetation, there are wilder residents too. These include the golden wildebeest, nyala, bushbuck, black impala, sable and reedbuck. The farm is situated some 1 600 metres above sea level and has views that it affords at this elevation are nothing short of awe-inspiring. Bird watchers and wildlife photographers are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding places to enjoy the sheer abundance of South Africa. The area around the farm is the natural breeding ground of the African vulture (also known as the white-backed vulture), which makes for a very exciting find for those that spot it. The flora of the region includes some very rare alpine species of wild flowers, as well as a close relative of the South African national flower, the protea.
