Rawsonville is a small wine and citrus farming community, located in the Breede River Valley in the Western Cape. The town is located on a scenic portion of the valley on the eastern flanks of the Du Toitskloof Mountains. There are numerous hiking and cycling trails in the area, to name a few - Bainskloof Waterfall Hike, Dwarsberg Trout Resort (they have 3 hiking trails and a bistro) and Wolfenberg Mystery Waterfall.
Rawsonville is also part of the Breedekloof Wine Route and hosts the annual Breedekloof extreme sports festival. The economy is heavily reliant on the agricultural community, however tourism in the form of weekend retreats are becoming more popular and contributes to the town's economy. Rawsonville is 90 kilometres (56 mi) to the east of Cape Town and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) to the west of the large town of Worcester.
