You can also visit the private art studio's of local artists by appointment. We have invested in quality percale linen. The stunning iconic Victorian cast steel lighthouse is a short walk away and by arrangement, you can climb up to the top of the lighthouse. Private guided tours around the south peninsula can be provided at an additional cost. Coffee and tea are provided. This is a very safe area and it is the most sought after area in the village. You can walk to the local restaurants and also walk to the beaches and wetland. There is excellent birdwatching and sometimes whale watching as well. There is a resident cat, Domino. We care about planet earth, so we recycle waste and ask our guests to use our composting system for food leftovers. Your host will make suggestions and help you with any questions. The cottage is small, but spotlessly clean and charming and very private. We can arrange packed picnic lunches on request at an extra charge. We are a non smoking property. Please note that we do not serve breakfast, there are 3 coffee shops within a short walk. Tea and coffee with rusks or biscuits are provided. Parking is in a designated paved area directly outside of the yard and we are members of the local block watch.

Susan is an artist and environmentalist - we contribute to and/or support WWF, The Humane Society, PETA, Sea Shepherd and numerous other conservation initiatives, your host can arrange excursions to Silvermine and surrounding mountains and also by arrangement we can take you to walk on the mountain as well as arrange trips to various secret birding viewpoints and hideouts for the ornithologists. The host is involved with community art programmes. We hope to make your stay as peaceful and comfortable as possible. If you have any special requirements such a pre-shopping for groceries for you, we can order whatever you need and have it delivered and packed into your kitchen and bathroom before you arrive. Please note we do not serve a full breakfast, there are 3 lovely coffee shops within 1 block, we provide tea and coffee and biscuits.

Kommetjie is world famous for surfing community and there are many top world surfers that hail from here. Surfing, snorkelling and mountain walks can easily be arranged. Nearby you will find Imhoff's Gift, a small cluster of shops and restaurants with high quality merchandise and the best sushi and venison. To the south is Scarborough, where you will find a fantastic Italian restaurant and other great culinary options as well as a beautiful pristine beach. Kite surfers find nirvana at nearby Witsands where on an average day there are many kitesurfer to be seen. A short drive will take you to Noordhoek where we can arrange horse riding on the beach. The neighbourhood is very safe and even evening strolls are popular amongst locals. The local eateries are all very popular and the food is excellent, especially the Portuguese braai at the Fisherman's on weekends. This is a place that will truly give you the feeling of being on holiday. Kommetjie is a special village where you can truly feel that you are getting away from city life, in-house catering can be arranged and picnic baskets are also something we can provide by arrangement.
