Woodcliffe is a 1000 ha cattle farm extending into the upper slopes of the southern Drakensberg in the north Eastern Cape and is situated 22km from Maclear (On a gravel road - No low slung cars). Nearby is the remarkable Naude's Nek pass, at 2 620m, the highest mountain pass in South Africa. For the lovers of the great outdoors, we are your destination!
I delight in sharing our special piece of Drakensberg with you. Please book a nature guide well in advance if you would like to get to our world famous rock art and high altitude orchids. Arrive with all your groceries and drinks . Spend a few days enjoying the splendid scenery. Your welcome will always we warm at Woodcliffe.
Woodcliffe is a cattle farm in the Maclear area. Maclear is a small trading town on the borders of the old Transkei. Our local village offers a Spar & Tops bottle store. Be sure to order your meat from Hendrik at Maclear Butchery . I can recommend the steaks and biltong. Arrangements can be made to see the Oakleigh dinosaur footprints nearby. My top 5 things to do at Woodcliffe : hike the yellow route &swim in Skinny Dip Pool, catch a trout, bring your mt bike for some unforgettable jeep tracks, see some rock art & have a sundowner enjoying or excellent views !
