Zeekoegat Country House is a jewel of a farm in the heart of the Great Karoo. There is silence, solitude, stars and great food! If you are keen on escaping city life but still want style and elegance, this Country House will tick all your boxes. It is the perfect stopover for weary families en route to the West Coast from the North or flower lovers and bird watchers can come and get their fill on this historic farm. There are 2 antique stone cottages to choose from and the private guest lounge that overlooks the swans Loch provides hearty, fresh farm fare. There is a private airstrip and refueling facilities for light aircraft. (AVGAS and Mogas) Quad bikes, mountain biking, swimming and canoeing are on offer on this working merino sheep farm as well.

This is a fourth generation wool farm and has all the nostalgic elements of an authentic Karoo farm. A maverick at heart, Jan loves flying and classical music while his wife is at home in the kitchen and her ample vegetable garden. Together they create a magical and relaxing environment for their all the varied and interesting people who visit them.

Zeekoegat is situated on the farm road (AP3002) between the small Karoo towns of Carnarvon and Vosburg. If you take a detour from a tar road you may be surprised to find a herd of Springbuck ahead of you, or farmers herding their flock of sheep or meerkats and tortoises! We have veld trips on Cruisers and breakfasts under big thorn trees while appreciating the stark and simple beauty of the Great Karoo plains.
