The location was out of town so was very quiet - a welcome change from staying in the cities. The food was great!

Lovely big room in a very old and charming inn. Everything is crooked! (but the building is from the 15th century...) A shame we only stayed for one night. The bathroom was as good as new and very beautiful. The room was cosy and clean. Very near the boat to/from Harwich, about 20 minutes. Much space to park your car on the opposite side of the street, with a private parking from the hotel. In the morning we were allowed to choose a breakfast from the regular menu card, no matter the costs, it was 'all in'. Wow! Would definitely go back here if we ever travel to England by boat.

I don't generally write a lot of reviews, but for the Alma I am going to make an exception. From the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left the service was just fabulous - very friendly staff, the food was excellent, and the pricing was just right.

Lovely building and the room was ample space and very clean, just what I needed for a place to stay whilst attending a wedding at nearby Woodhall Manor. The landlord was very accommodating to my requests prior to my stay, put me at ease as I was in a rush due to the wedding starting early. Was a nice pub to come back for a nightcap after too. A decent continental breakfast was ready in the morning too. Would highly advise if you’re attending an event at Woodhall Manor as this must be the closest place to stay.
