The way that Casa de Amistad is designed is so thoughtful. You can tell they have experienced the lifestyle they wish to provide to their guests. It felt like we were staying at a guestroom of a friend's house (that really liked us 😉). Additionally everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. It was like we were gabbing with buddies that we hadn't seen in a while but no time seemed to have passed. They are so knowledgeable and if you name drop them to any tours, everyone says they'll take great care of you and it's true. The location is great as well with cute brunch spots and Puerto Rican food. You just pop off the ferry and it's a super short walk. I would highly recommend Casa de Amistad for someone who wants to experience the island with a comfortable vibe to come back and rest rather than stay in their room and be waited on. My sister and I plan to come back, explore more beaches, and stay right here.

Located in the south-west of Puerto Rico, this property offers its guests an outdoor pool, on-site snack bar and free Wi-Fi throughout. In the gardens guests may enjoy the sun terraces. the place is beautiful and fantastic. Rooms are nice and confortable. Restaurant and bar are excellent. Pool and Hamacas are the best.

Since we had some important questions to ask, we contacted the hotel 4-5 times before the arrival. The communication was fast and effective and we were satisfied with the answers. When we came, we found the staff super friendly and assisting every way they could. Mr. Sergi Martorell, the manager, was very efficient in solving the problems that have arisen and answering multiple questions we had regarding our week stay in las Terrenas. He was always at the hotel, speaking with guests, inquiring about their day. The hotel is surrounded by an idyllic lush garden. The cottages (we lived in number 21) are nicely designed with a lot of beautiful pictures inside and on the porch as well as colourful furniture. The kitchen has all amenities necessary for making meals and coffee. Both bedrooms have bathrooms. The house was very clean when we arrived. The location is fabulous, a 3 minute walk to the closest sandy beach from which you can stroll long distances both directions. In many cases we were the only ones to swim in the sea in a particular spot. The cafes and restaurants can be found as close as a 5-10 minute walk. When we return to las Terrenas, we will be happy to stay at the same hotel again.

The air con in the bedroom is very effective and the guesthouse is spacious with a comfortable bed, cooking facilities and a large lounge. Fleur is very helpful, even giving a mobile phone for non Jamaican guests to use for calls. The area is quiet, safe and close to the universities (you can take advantage of a swim at the Olympic pool at UWI 350jd followed by a fresh coconut. )Ubers are convenient and economical ways to go downtown, to lively Kingston Night market on Tuesdays or to Kingston Dub club on Sundays. A good spot for getting into the hills too for a sample of Blue mountain coffee. Ubers from here are also great ways to meet Jamaicans and possibly find a driver to take you further afield. The breakfast is lovely at Kingston cottage and can include Ackee and saltfish at the weekend. The caretaker gardener here is really friendly and helpful.

Golden Rock Inn is breathtaking! The property’s lush landscaping, eclectic decor, and serene ambiance make you feel as if you’ve stepped into a secluded jungle retreat. The peaceful pool area, combined with thoughtfully placed seating nooks throughout the grounds, creates the perfect setting to unwind—whether you’re soaking in nature or getting lost in a good book. A truly unique and tranquil escape! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious, with large, satisfying portions. Breakfast was included during our stay, and we also had our best dinner on the island at the hotel’s restaurant—it was unforgettable! Even though the property has WiFi, we truly felt off the grid—there were no TVs or unnecessary digital distractions in our room or around the property, allowing us to fully recharge and connect with each other and our surroundings. It was the perfect place to slow down and be present.
