The scenery was beautiful. In the evening you have the entire mountaintop to yourself. The place was serene and the scenery wasn't like anything I've seen before. Would strongly recommend. Breakfast was also pleasant - not too complicated but has good variety. The view in breakfast room is amazing.

The view from our room was beautiful over the church bells and the snowed mountains. Very beautiful views from the room and the balcony. Excellent breakfast, the allowed us to have friends not staying at the hotel to join us for breakfast.

Some of the rooms offer a view of the Jungfrau, Breithorn and Ebnefluh mountains, which are over 4,000 m high. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was not only spacious and incredibly comfortable, but it also offered a breathtaking view. What truly set this experience apart, however, was the exceptional customer service. After accidentally leaving our camera behind, we faced the unfortunate reality that returning to retrieve it wasn’t an option. Yet, the staff and manager at Hotel Steinbock went above and beyond to ensure it was safely returned to us. Their kindness, honesty, and dedication were absolutely remarkable—and deeply appreciated. In a world where such genuine helpfulness is rare, their actions left a lasting impression on me. Whenever I return to Lauterbrunnen, there’s no question—I’ll be staying at Hotel Steinbock again and again.

All guest room at the Schönegg guest house feature typical Alpine-style furniture. Very well situated near Interlaken and Ost station. Fully enjoyed our stay with a beautiful and peaceful view of mountains and lake. Room was cleaned everyday and felt like in a chalet. Nice breakfast. Laundry facilities available. Safe area. Will definitely come back again!
