Pen-y-cae
The units at the inn come with a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. The Ancient Briton provides certain units with mountain views, and all rooms are fitted with a kettle. The Ancient Briton was one of the best B&Bs we stayed at during our 2.5-week trip through the UK. The staff, rooms, food, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. The building is old but tastefully refurbished. While some stairways are narrow and dim (a bit of a challenge with luggage), the rooms were comfortable, well-equipped, and even featured unique plaster ceiling designs that gave them real character. The staff was outstanding. The woman who managed breakfast each morning (I wish I remembered her name) was especially wonderful—warm, attentive, and full of local tips. Thanks to her, we discovered the Red Kite Feeding Station in Llanddeusant, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. The pub downstairs is lively and welcoming, with excellent food and a friendly mix of locals. It does get busy in the evenings, but even as a party of six, we were always accommodated.

The ‘old pub feel’ was very relaxing, it was nice to come ‘home’ after a busy day sightseeing and relax in the lounge before dinner. Our host (Sue) was amazing and her suggestions for things to do were great - as were her breakfasts! At the end of our 4 day stay she felt like a friend.

Great location for our need and easy to find. Access and directions very clearly described by host. Rooms were very comfortable and shower was good. Found it very relaxing for the stay. Room was very charming and rustic, family loved the decor. Kitchen was well stocked and added bonus had a dishwasher, which came in very handy.
Good size room and clean.Dinner in the bar was tasty and freshly made. Staff friendly.
The Cawdor at Llandeilo was an amazing discovery. Excellent, stylish hotel in a beautiful Welsh landscape. Great restaurant with many options for dinner and breakfast.
Stayed for a bolt on weekend after visiting Pembroke in the week. Perfect location for me and family who planned to visit Brecon (30 min drive) for a new parkrun and the family wanting to achieve climbing of nearby Pan Y Fan (20 min drive) . Had all we needed under one tiny roof and sat and enjoyed the Olympics in the evening on the tv :-) Local convince store X2 nearby (5 mins walk) and award winning chip shop (5 mins walk). Kitchen well equipped (no microwave, so eat out or eat fresh).
Well placed and nice hotel in Brecon Beacons National Park (Llyn y Fan Fach is faboulous!). The staff was very nice, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty! We had nice spacious family room, and parking the car just at the 'balcony' to offload was fantastic! Recommending highly!
