Set in the South Downs National Park, the Badgers Inn is just a 5-minute drive from Petworth village. Fresh, local produce is served in the restaurant which specialises in shellfish during the summer and game in the winter. What a wonderful place. My room was so spacious and beautifully decorated. The restaurant was very tasty, friendly and well done. My included breakfast the next morning was excellent. I was traveling alone and felt welcome and safe. I highly recommend Badgers Inn.

Excellent food. Could be described as "pub grub" but wider choice than the usual and very high quality. Live music was on during my stay but that stopped at around 10:00pm so not intrusive at all. Sparkling wit from the host!! Since I was leaving well before the 8:00 breakfast, a doggy bag was supplied the noight before with more in there than I acyually asked for. Too generous!
