Hiro San is an amazing host who ensures a great stay and goes the extra mile. He took us to an incredible thrift store (Harman) and made reservations at an incredible modern Japanese restaurant (Zion). The house is beautiful and the onsen amazing. The pillows and futon are best we had during 4 weeks in Japan. Thank you Hiro San!

Our stay was exceptional thanks to the hotel team. We came to celebrate the birthday of one of our own, and the staff went out of their way to make it incredible. Special mention: when booking, we asked if it was possible to prepare a birthday cake. The hotel staff went out of their way to deliver a magnificent cake for our meal. Overall, the hotel's facilities are very pleasant, the rooms very clean and the staff very attentive. If we ever come back to Nikkō, we'll definitely stay at this hotel again! We can only recommend the hotel!

Super atas. Clean, everything is well thought of. Tip top class service, also not to forget to mention about the onsen. It has both hot and cold onsen, very clean with a hot sauna. All washing facilities are very clean and well kept. Also, both the Japanese restaurant and The Bar are astounding in design n service.

The whole experience was beyond our expectations. Hacho No Yu is perfectly surrounded by nature, you really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere (in a good way) when you're there. There are trails leading from the property where you can explore the surrounding forest during day hikes if you please. The staff is all excellent and extremely accommodating. The food was delicious & really nicely presented. The onsen were the perfect way to end the day in complete relaxation. If you get the chance to go stargazing then would absolutely recommend that as well!

The house is big with many rooms and beds. It’s a bit old. The twin hot baths are in a separate room. We could not find the light and heater in that room. These twin hot baths cannot be used after 9:30pm. The time restriction limits the number of people who can enjoy it, especially if you have BBQ which has to be finished by 9pm. The place outside the house where you have BBQ is not well decorated.
