From the moment we arrived we loved the hotel. In the heart of Nara, only a stone's throw away from the deer park. The hotwl was clean, staff were so accommodating, and the advice they gave us on Nara was second to none. The private bath was such a lovely touch in the evening. This is a very large property with lots of space for a family. It’s Japanese style but there are also western style beds if you prefer. The owner is very kind and left many snacks and food for us to enjoy. She is an excellent communicator. The location is perfect - right next to Nara station

This gem may be located a bit further from the main attractions of Nara Park, but it is without a doubt worth the visit. Finally, a truly luxurious five-star hotel. The hotel's delightful aesthetics, incredibly comfortable rooms, outstanding cuisine, and wonderful spa are just a few highlights of the exceptional experience. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the remarkable team of professionals who go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome and taken care of. We had the pleasure of returning to Nara after 18 years, and the staff had prepared a thoughtful welcome note and even surprised us with a complimentary dessert dish for breakfast, accompanied by a note. The front desk staff were attentive to our every request, question, and need, always going the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction. They provided us with fantastic suggestions that were off the beaten path, beyond what one could find in travel guides, and their recommendations for local restaurants were top-notch. Additionally, we are immensely grateful that we were able to find refuge at the Marriott Nara during Typhoon Lan. Throughout the entire ordeal, we felt safe and well-cared for. Much recommended for an authentic Japanese house experience! The host is super nice. We felt at home just as we arrived. We were planning to eat out, but decided to order the set meals as the atmosphere felt so comfy. The fish tasted amazing! Not needing to go out for dinner is a nice perk after a long day of sightseeing.

A beautiful location. Rriver view is outstanding! During cherry blossoms, it should be absolutely magical. The room is a great combination of a traditional ryokan and a modern hotel, has everything you need for comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. We also were allowed to leave our luggage before check-in. We visited public baths and liked it.

The place is exceptional. It is villa by all means. There is lots of space, all was bright clean and all equipment was working and top class! If you add great location with windows on the River, this is the only place I ever want to go back to live in Kyoto.
