Surplombant le lac Ellidavatn, le Hotel Kriunes propose gratuitement un parking et une connexion Wi-Fi. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous, best I've had in a hotel in a very long time. Choices were great, loved that there was some very special local things like herring and cod liver oil available. Nice that they offered some prosecco, too. Delicious coffee. The decor was unique and interesting in a good way. The room was really spacious, the bathroom in particular. The room opened to a small terrace so we could easily go out and watch for Northern lights. The front desk, per our request, called us when they were visible. The person at check-in was SO kind and very helpful. The beds were incredibly comfy and the robes were a nice tough. Really nice toiletry products. Nice duo-head shower with good water pressure. At the spa area in the changing room was the most incredible massage chair! The location by the lake was so nice - felt woodsy and remote, even though we were not far at all from the city. It was a quick drive to Sky Lagoon where we headed in the morning. I would absolutely stay here again.

Decoration is beautiful, the kitchen is great and the house is very confortable. It is not that far from Reykiavik but it is in an isolated and relaxed area.

Location was close to Thingvellir (25 min out) and also close to most north/western part of the island (30min) which was great to be closer to the ocean and other towns. The house was super cute and modern with heated floors (I think). The kitchen had all the extras you could need to cook or eat with a well-stocked pantry. There was also an outdoor seating are and jacuzzi which we didn't get to use but I imagine it would be nice to sit there. It was super windy outside so the noise is kind of scary but the house did not blow away in the end hahah. it was a great stay and very comfortable place!!!
