The staff is so helpful and wonderful. The check in procedure was very nice and homey. The facilities are very good as well, especially the outdoor onsen that you can book for a private slot. The room was very spacious. The kaiseki dinner was also amazing! All in all, a very nice ryokan in a good location for seeing the snow monkeys.

Hosts are amazing - picked us up from Yudanaka station and dropped us back, same with the monkey park. Made everything so easy for us. Ryokan has indoor and outdoor onsens, the outdoor onsen is private. We used it at night when it was snowing and it was magical. Plenty of eateries close by, although the hours vary for each. Make sure you have cash as many don't accept cards.

L’établissement 志賀高原 白い温泉 渓谷の湯 vous accueille à Yamanouchi, à 14 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Parc aux singes de Jigokudani. C était notre première expérience dans un onsen et ça a été exceptionnel. C est un vrai onsen avec le source d eau chaude avec son odeur forte characteristique mais qui indique qui est un véritable onsen. Le repas était incroyable. D une finesse inouïe. Le service était excelente, le personnel extremenr attentif et souriant. On reviendrai sans doute!

Situé à Yamanouchi et offrant une vue sur la montagne, l’établissement Hotarutei Villas propose une terrasse, un restaurant et un bar. Warm welcome from our hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Great location within walking distance to snow monkey park and local town. Well appointed and spacious villa. Excellent breakfast and dinner, the latter was in the form of a tasting menu so had the opportunity to explore Japanese cuisine that we wouldn't normally opt for. On our second night we had the place to ourselves so it felt very special.

Directement relié aux pistes de la station de ski d'Okushiga Kogen et à moins d'1 minute à pied de la remontée mécanique 1, l'Hotel Grand Phenix Okushiga bénéficie d'un accès skis aux pieds. Incredible service and incredible overall experience. It's like staying in a fancy cabin in the snow. The lounge area with the giant fireplace is awesome, very nice food, very spacious rooms and first class facilities such as the onsens and indoor swimming pool. The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.

Authentic Japanese experience. This is a family-run hotel with various offered services. Ski renting and lesson can be done at the hotel. Ken is truly an amazing teacher. Very patient and encouraging. We booked 3 lessons with him and very satisfied. As for food, we opted for half board option and find that the dinners, in every nights we stayed, are delicious and nutritional. Ski-in/ski-out is very convenient. The ski lift is right in front of the hotel. The Sun Valley area is also great for both beginner and intermediate skiers with green/red/black slopes in one area. On weekdays, there are almost no people there, which is nice if you want to practice or learn to ski. The bus stop to the city and other areas is only 100m away. The 24-h onsen is perfect after a tiring day of skiing. The family's hospitality is unmatched. I broke my glasses and Captain helped me fix them :) they literally have everything. Highly recommend!
