He is very friendly and accommodating, providing recommendations for places to visit around Polonnaruwa and sharing his knowledge, which made our stay even more memorable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful stay near the Polonnaruwa pilgrimage sites.

Offering a garden and garden view, Malee Homestay is set in Polonnaruwa, 48 km from Pidurangala Rock and 49 km from Sigiriya Rock. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the homestay free of charge. The homestay features a hot tub and a 24-hour front desk. The staff are so welcoming and kind, they really want you to have a wonderful stay. The welcome drink was the best homemade lemonade we've ever tasted! The accommodation is clean and light, and the garden is full of nature. Close to the town and restaurants. We chose not to do the ancient ruins in the end due to the expense, but it was worth coming to Polonnaruwa just to meet these lovely people!

We had the nicest host ever! The room was well-ventilated, spacious, with a large bathroom and a terrace where we enjoyed our meals. The food, cooked by the host's wife, was extremely delicious—we ate curry, kotu, and breakfast. I highly recommend the short night wildlife tour with the host. Upali guided us around, showing us wild animals nearby, including bats, fireflies, and deer. Don’t be misled by the low price; this accommodation is truly amazing. Definitely recommend!

Room and bathroom very clean and spacious. AC good. Our host was very welcoming and arranging. We booked 2 bicycles to visit the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Site, which is located nearby. We had a delicious homemade dinner, and the breakfast was good as well.

Great pool. Very spacious. Lovely garden. Plenty of space to rest and relax in away from the room. Thanu, our host, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. He made very useful suggestions for our activities. The location was really convenient for visiting the ancient city ruins.

The room was air-conditioned and extremely spacious. The hot water in the bathroom worked well. The setting was pleasant and location was so convenient to explore the ancient city (5 minute walk). Filtered water was available for us to refill our water bottles. We were able to rent bicycles (for 1000LKR each). The hosts also gave us blankets upon request.

The location is next to the rice paddies and the rooms are spacious. Clean but not super clean, we had lots of Gecko leftovers in the bathroom and room. The host was very helpful in organising us a tuktuk and a boat tour to see the lake’s bird life in the morning.

Very quiet and beautiful stay. Spacious room with bathroom and terrace. Friendly and helpful hosts. Very tasty and big homemade dinner (rice and curry). Reasonable price to rent a good bike. Totally recommend to stay and relax. Not far from the old city ( you can go on bike around a lake - very nice ride, also great place to watch sunset and it is just behind the accomodation)
