The view from our balcony of the Duro Valley was like the view from an airplane! The beds were so comfortable! The modern cottage was unique. The pool was clean and beautiful. Very charming, family-run hotel in the hills of the Douro Valley with not only an extraordinary view on the bending river. But most strikingly - the house has personality which obviously reflects the owner’s passion for place, history and intimacy. Vintage items, personal photos here and there makes you feel like staying at a friends’ place who also has lovely recommendations at hand when you look for places to explore. And if you want to just relax and enjoy the view - the hotel’s pool and the surrounding terraces are just perfect to calm down. Moreover: one of us was sick during our stay - and the hosts were super helpful, understanding and supporting, this was extraordinary. Thank you so much!

Offering an outdoor pool and hot tub, Douro Suites is situated in Baião in the Norte Region Region, 43 km from Porto. The accommodation boasts a spa bath. Guimarães is 41 km away. We had the most wonderful suite for our 3 night stay - spacious and beautifully furnished with lots of little extras. And a magnificent view of the Douro River from our room and private, tree shaded patio with a little pool to cool off in. We had picnic baskets delivered to our room for dinner and were happy to spend time in the beautiful space.

Offering an outdoor pool and terrace, Casa do Rio Quinta do Vallado is situated in Castelo Melhor, in the Norte Region Region, 13 km from Vila Nova de Foz Coa and 47 km from Mirandela. The location was stunning! Wine tasting was a highlight the lady was lovely and very informative. Evening dinner with wine pairing fantastic and breakfast plentiful and beautifully presented.

Amazing to spend the weekend and relax.

This pace is beautiful. It is very peaceful, the staff are attentive. The beds were super comfortable. There is everything in the kitchen you need to create a lovely meal. This was very welcome after weeks of travelling I enjoyed being able to prepare delicious food for my family.
