Don’t bother with Malagueta, the beach is dirty and the water isn’t that great either. Try take the C1 train to Torremolinos, 20 min away, much much better quality and better type of crowd. Nerja is also great for a day trip (an hour by bus).Guest review byAurélienUnited Kingdom

Also, from here, with bus 4 or 19 you can reach the magnificent Malagueta beach and Marina Malaga in 10 minutes, if you don't get off in the old center. Many markets and cafes in the area.
