Excellent room and comfortable beds. Delightful gardens. Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. Excellent and good value dinner at the restaurant. Lovely pool of good size and well suited for young kids.

Amazing location in the grounds of Fontevraud Abbey, it was such a treat to be able to wander round the Abbey and grounds late into the evening. The staff were brilliant collecting our luggage from the car park as soon as we arrived, ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay and their enthusiasm during service in the restaurant.

This is as close to perfect as it gets for a small historic ‘hostelry’. Right opposite the gates of Fontevraud Abbey and totally in keeping with the ambience. Room 25 was superb, we loved it. Food was fabulous and the staff were lovely. We’ve been all over the world but for a small hotel this is as good as it gets. Highly recommended !

This hotel is situated right next to Fontevraud Abbey so was very convenient for our visit to the town. Dinner in the restaurant was good, as was breakfast the next morning.

Pared back luxury in a former Abbey. Best of all you get access to Fontevraud Abbey after hours until just gone midnight. Food was excellent and eaten in the former cloister.

It is a charming hotel right opposite Fontevraud Abbey and near Saumur. Although in the centre there was free parking for guests at the hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

This is a great find. Pearl is wonderful - she welcomed us with a glass of rosé wine, some nibbles and chocolates! A mine of information, she even phoned the restaurant (which we'd already booked) to make sure we got the cosy table by the log fire! Breakfast was delicious and excellent value for money! If you're visiting Fontevraud Abbey her house is brilliantly placed almost opposite the entrance and the restaurant was a 2 minute walk! (Chinon and Saumur and other major Loire attractions are also easy to reach by car.)
