Most of my life decisions were made in this hotel. From choosing what Uni I went to and my husband proposing to me here so it holds a lot of good memories . I even decided to apply for a job whilst taking High tea here! I love the facilities, and the view from our room was breathtaking. The service is impeccable ! Worth every penny ! We will be back for many years to come.

Perfect place to stay in Edinburgh. You can see the castle from the hotel but you're far enough away to not get caught in all the touristy hustle and bustle. We loved the location. Breakfast was a la carte and really fantastic - best breakfast we had during our whole trip! We also visited the steak restaurant located in the hotel and I can tell you, it deserves it's reputation as one of the best steak restaurants in all of Edinburgh. If you're looking to try some amazing local steaks, then it's the place to go. Pricing was a little on the higher end but we were satisfied with all the services and amenities available. Overall, we would 100% return and stay here again!

Calton Hill

Calton Hill is home to a clutch of eclectic Edinburgh monuments. Originally set aside as an open area for the townsfolk to practise sport and tournaments, it’s now a stunning city park with both sweeping vistas and historical clout. Head to the Nelson Monument and the Dugald Stewart Monument to gaze on some iconic Scottish architecture.

Amazing room, very clean and comfortable. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from the bus link for the airport so very convenient if flying to Edinburgh. Perfect location between all the activities we wanted to do and very friendly staff checking in. It's right next to Calton hill so if you want to catch this view at sunrise/ sunset it's easy to get to from the hotel.

The hotel has a quiet but still central location in the Old Town. The room had a nice view of Calton Hill and the New Town. The breakfast was excellent as was the cleaning and the staff were very nice and service-oriented. We are very happy with our stay and can really recommend this hotel!

My room was on the first floor (which is the topmost floor), overlooking the windsor street. It is almost at the foot of the Calton hills, and just a 10 mins walk to the Waverly station and st. James quarters. Lots of nice places to eat in the neighbourhood. The Royal mile is a bit less than half an hour walk. Overall, wonderful location. They kept my luggage for a few hours both before checking in as well as after checking out for a small fee of 1 gbp.

The flat was welcoming and as described “lush and arty, which we loved. It was comfortable and roomy. We walked the Royal Mile and up Calton Hill, so it was convenient but out of the bustle and fray. Little extras were supplied in the kitchen, which was easy to use. Michelle supplied lots of information on Edinburgh which was enormously helpful.
