Down one set of stairs to Grassmarket, up a set of stairs and you are at the front gate of the castle. Short 3 minute walk to Royal Mile. The apartment is quiet, beautifully decorated and very clean. Grassmarket is the best location of Edinburgh, just next to some great pubs, a few minutes from the royal mile and the castle, and not far from the new town. If you follow the stairs beside the hostel you find the best view of the castle. The kitchen facilities are great, it has everything I needed. Just a few minutes you find a Sainsbury grocery store. We loved the view of the castle from the kitchen window. We liked the size of the room, the sunlight, the kitchen, bathroom, closet, etc. We also liked how easy it was to access the room w the code. Also close to the hop on hop off bus which we used to explore the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket. It was also right on the bus route from the airport. We could look out our window to the right and see the castle. The museum was a block away.
