My son Max and I had a magical stay at The Balmoral. The staff were just wonderful. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay extra special for Max (age 9). Our trip to Edinburgh was a special treat because he's a huge Harry Potter fan. He absolutely loved Edinburgh and all it's Potter lore but the stay in the Balmoral was by far the highlight of his trip because of how kind everyone was to us (as well as it being a beautiful luxurious hotel of course).

Princes Street Gardens have some of the prettiest flowers on hand as well as benches for people to sit and enjoy the lush scenery. There are two areas: the first portion is near the Scott Monument and goes all the way to the Scottish Galleries. The second section has the roses and flowers of every kind, going all the way down to St. John's Episcopal Church. There's also an incredible blue fountain in the area at the bottom.
