Make sure you both book ahead and download the guide before going. Orkney is far less accessible than it used to be. Now wverything has to be booked ahead so the freedom of travel holiday I had a few years ago - seeing things on a whim is no longer available.. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the house is comfortable and beautifully done out. Fab location, quiet but close to town. A good-sized room with a private bathroom, ample off-stteet parking and a shared kitchen in case you want to cook yourself. A ten minute walk to Kirkwall and the ferry pier across a nice park and just around the corner from the major supermarkets. Sunrise over the Loch was worth getting up for and, better than that, we got an auroral display that lasted 6 hours.
