The woodlands is one of my favourite hotels. It caters for absolutely everyone. I loved the fire pits on the driveway in, it added a touch of class to the entrance. The petting farm is fabulous for the kids. The hotel itself is so warm and cosy with stunning decorations. Our room was amazing, so spacious and designed beautifully. The staff couldn’t do enough. Our meal was delicious. We absolutely loved the outdoor area, cabins with the stoves, Pizza , burger, coffee and icecream huts and finally the sports bar. Everything amazing.

The hotel was spacious and very clean. Our room was very comfortable, well equipped with a large bed, a lounge area, ironing facilities and an office space. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The staff were professional and very helpful, from the reception to the housekeeping staff. We had a problem with our room thermostat, and the duty manager was amazing and so friendly and resolved the issue so efficiently, and we appreciated that we were given a discount for the night.

    We visited here both in the evening and the daytime and enjoyed it very much. The walking tour is quite interesting, and the restaurant is very good, especially in the evening when live music is performed.

    Mary is a superb historian.

    Mary is a superb historian. She guided us through the history of Bunratty Castle and the grounds. Do not leave without talking to her. Ask any member of staff and you will be guided to where she is on the grounds. I assure you this lady is gifted in sharing her knowledge and welcomes you. She is a credit to the estate.     I have been to Bunratty castle and folk park many times and...

    I have been to Bunratty castle and folk park many times and I’m equally delighted with the experience every time I return. The park itself is a wonderful charming glimpse into Irish history/culture and exploring the castle itself is outstanding!. My daughters and I love staying overnight nearby so we can enjoy the outstanding medieval dinner show in the evening in the actual banquet room of the castle. (Note that you can only explore the entire castle during the day, the dinner experience is limited to the two main rooms)This park is easily accessible by using public transportation as the bus stops right in front of the castle. It’s only a 10 minute ride from Shannon airport so this is a great way to start or end your visit to Ireland.
