The dinner that Satoshi made for us was delicious and a great start to our travels in Japan. Nikko and the surrounding area is beautiful and a trip to Chuzenji Lake is worth doing and the walk around the lake to the summer Residencies of the European embassies. At one night at a delicious small sushi restaurant near to the JR Station. Finally Onsens at the Guest house were the favourite ones I experienced. The location is good: it can easily be reached by Tobu Bus (Bus Stop 18). From there, you can easily get to both Chuzenji Lake/Yumoto Onsen and the world heritage area. The owners are very friendly, breakfast and dinner (book in advance) are amazing. Near to bus station (3 mins walk) and Chuzenji Lake Bus Terminal (10 min walk, more bus back to Nikko station). There's also a small local supermarket near the hostel, offering cheap bentos and food ingredients.
