We loved how beautiful the property looked from a design point of view. The attention to detail is exceptional: from the materials of robes in the room, to the shower gel/shampoo… we loved everything about this property and felt very comfortable!

What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

A special mention to the welcome drinks personally offered by the management—a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the exceptional service to come. I was assigned a dedicated butler, and I can’t praise him enough. He went above and beyond in every way, ensuring I was always comfortable and had everything I needed. Truly outstanding service! The room was absolute perfection—elegant, spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully designed to blend luxury with local charm. Every element, from the linens to the lighting, felt curated for a flawless experience. The surroundings are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen—nature at its most breathtaking. And when night fell, the African sky came alive. There’s something magical about it that made me feel deeply connected and completely at peace—like being home in the most unexpected way. Honestly, this hotel deserves 7 stars, not just 5. The placement of the hotel is strategic, as you can go by walk to the beach, to the port and to the old medina! The rooms are good and the service is excellent! The staff were very nice and caring.

amazing place , lovely service we felt like home

It had character and style. The situation looking over the harbour and near stone town was perfect. Our room looked over the swimming pool with a balcony which was lovely. The beds very comfortable too. The breakfast was second to none. I especially enjoyed the fruit selection and freshly made omelettes. We also enjoyed evening meals watching the sun set over the harbour.
