If you have the opportunity, take the extension tour up to the monument. It is an extra fee but that goes towards the project. We got to stand right next to the face and on the arm. Amazing to see up close and watch how the carving is going on this mountain. The light show at night is worth seeing too. Scouts in uniform get in free. This is a huge carving in natural stone that is still in progress. Reserve the opportunity to go up onto the arm of Crazy Horse to the total experience. This s small group, van ride up (after the workers are finished for the day). The view is worth the ride, you are allowed to bring back a stone of your choice, and when you up so close and personal, the sheer massiveness is obvious.
