Lodges in Isla Violin

Can't say enough about Anouk and Kevin's hospitality. Sabalo Lodge is off the beaten path but this is what we were looking for. After spending several days in La Fortuna and then Monteverde, our arrival to Sabalo Lodge felt like we had finally arrived to the Costa Rica we had come to experience. The food Kevin prepared for us was out of this world. No exaggeration! The large cabin we stayed in was very nice and spacious, beds very comfortable and a great porch to sit and relax or swing in the hammock. The grounds are very beautiful and we enjoyed the natural swimming pool each day we were there. Kevin arranged and took care of all the booking for our tours which were close by and didn't involve a whole lot of extra travel time in between. Free access to the kayaks was a bonus!! LOTS to explore close by. My son who is 9 had a fantastic time!

From the start a wonderful experience. The beautiful rooms are very clean and have serene view into the jungle to spot wildlife directly from your balcony! The amazing staff goes above and beyond and made our stay exceptional with delicious breakfast and dinners, tour transfers, and tips for beaches, hikes and more. - Thank you Alfonso, Anita and Carlos. We love this place and will recommend it to our family and friends. PS: Highly recommend to book Tours with Top Tail Corcovado.

Perfect location, lovely couple that own it, could have been more helpful. Incredible restaurant, the food was amazing and the room has everything you need for a lovely stay.

The accommodation is a well equipped studio in a very quiet and remote area outside of the little village Los Planes. We enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace with watching and listening to many different birds. There is a good panaderia (Cielo y tierra) in Los Planes. Only 5-10 minutes by car away is gorgeous Las Caletas beach. From there you can also make a beautiful hike to Drake Bay or/and San Josecito bay which we can highly recommend. We also walked to the rainforest platform of the owner's father which was a very particular experience.

.The place looks better than the photos. Everything is spotless clean and well equipped.the view is really good even when its raining. the owner is well connected to worker's in the park, very helpful, honest and a nice guy

the view the view the view. you can stare at it forever. the bungalows are comfortable ( finally a bed I can sleep correctly in) the staff is kind and very helpful. the beach is pretty close and nature is all around you. toucans , parrots etc. beautiful sunset.

Our stay in the Corcovado Green Cabin was a highlight and the perfect end of our Costa Rica trip! Raquel was so lovely and the cabin was just beautiful, very clean and located in such a peaceful area. We only needed around 10 min by walk to arrive at the beach, where we literally were the only 2 people! Our highlight was the great view which we enjoyed in the morning during breakfast or in the evenings watching the sunset. We totally recommend it and would come back any time! The room was like the pictures suggested: nice, spacious and clean. All accomodations needed were present, The owners are extremely friendly and helpfull. The property has a nice garden with lots of white faced monkeys! The breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

I was here for 5 nights oct 7-12 2022, the rainy season. -Arraigned airport pickup before i arrived. I arrived at airport and they were pulling up as i walked out the door. A very nice man that is the hotel driver, doesnt speak much english, drove me from airport to hotel, about 30-45 min drive depending on road conditions. We had to drive through a river that was not too deep, near airport. -The hotel was very nice, i was greeted by one of their sons that spoke english, as well as the mother and father who run the business. I paid with visa debit for the stay and cash for the driver. -Was shown to my cabin/bungalow. It was great, 3/4 sides is screen walls with curtains, a nice big bathroom, looks like brand new wood, 2 nice beds, even live flowers. The cabin has a balcony, with chairs and light, its nice for reading at night, view of surrounding forest/lawn. There is very nice flower bush right outside that humming birds love, you can hear/see a humming bird at least 1 every 10 min. The cabin is a short walk away from the main building, down a garden trail. Nice air flow because of the screens, and there is a ceiling fan too. Many outlets to charge things. -The food was GREAT. I am a very picky eater, i eat with my eyes (like a bird as my mother said), and i am mostly vegetarian except for some deep fried fish and chicken because it is good, they asked me what i perfered, and altho there was a language barrior as the mother and father dont speak english, they understood my meals and made a effort to give me food i would like. Fresh juice daily. -Drake bay is about 1 hour walk, with a bridge and one steep hill (the river crossing is only on the way to airport). Its a scenic walk, i did it a few times. Most times it was raining, but still nice. Or the hotel offers drives for a cost. They did tell me that i would get one free transport to and from town per day.

We have been home 2 weeks but we are still dreaming about our stay at Kinkajoungalows. From start to finish the stay was perfect. A welcome committee of strong men met our boat from Sierpe to help with our luggage. We were looked after like this for the whole of our stay by the perfect hosts. The family team never imposed on our privacy and were very discreet but were always available when we needed any help. Samuel was incredibly helpful and responsive providing answers to all our questions. The lovely little bungalows are well positioned for each guests privacy and with balconies overlooking the jungles.Just sitting on the balcony we saw Monkeys, Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, a Tapir and an anteater. The rooms are perfectly comfortable , nicely decorated and very well equipped. We loved the location just a few steps from a secluded paradise beach, where you could lay in a hammock to enjoy a cocktail and watch the fabulous sunsets. We didn't venture very far as the immediate area was so wonderful that we didn't want to to rush around,. We wanted to enjoy the relaxed mood and savour the moment. We simply relaxed , enjoyed the simple home cooked food., ad being looked after by the staff. We are now desperate to return and hope to have the opportunity to spend more time there to further explore the area, or simply enjoy this very special place ! A thank you to Kenya who helped me out by giving me a tube of Aloe Vera Gel when I stupidly got sunburnt on the snorkeling trip to Canos islands.
