I liked everything! The atmosphere is quite and relaxing. You feel as in the family, and a very accepting family! Everything you need is provided for you; Fred and Espi really make your life comfortable. In addition, the wonderful nature around, and you can get kayaks to go to the nearest island to make snorkeling and to see corals and colorful fishes...
If you need a rest after the long working year, it is the best place you can choose. No noise, no transport, no crowds, the view of ocean, a very clean beach near the stay. We had a walk around the island, and the best and cleanest beach was near our stay. The food that the owners provide was delicious, everything was home-made, including the bread that I couldn't stop to eat it. I have a food allergy, and Espi cooked for me individually so that I could eat without worrying about it.
It is the place that I would like to return there each year! I just want to thank Fred and Espi, his wife, for this wonderful time!

This was a fantastic experience and stay - altogether. The attentiveness of Jason and the staff makes it feel like a 5 star hotel, whilst the location and rustic feel makes it feel like you are truly in the heart of the jungle. You fall asleep to a light breeze and the sounds of the jungle. My wife is pregnant and we were a bit worried about mosquito diseases - but Jason explained that the ridge at which the hotel is at has barely any mosquitoes because of the altitude. He also suggested a non deet mosquito spray that really works. We had 0 mosquito bites during our stay. I can’t get all the things into a review. But such a gem of a place. Thank all of you ❤️

I would give a score 20 if I could :) I found this place a bit by coincidence and I honestly could not have made a better choice for my stay at the Kinabatangan river.
The lodge is near to the river and I felt relaxed and at ease from the first moment I arrived. The rooms have just been renovated and are good value for money. Don’t expect luxury - you are in the midst of the jungle after all - but they are really decent, clean and far better quality than previous jungle accommodations I had in other places. All the meals are included and you will get plenty of delicious fingerlicking homecooked food.
I was welcomed with the greatest hospitality by Linda. She is such a lovely and passionate person and cares a whole lot about the lodge and her guests. She will absolutely go the extra mile to be sure that her guests have the greatest experience. I also met the owner of the place who is a very kind and respectful man. I loved the fact that this is a very warm and personalised experience where you get to know a few other people without ending up in a big group.
As for the wildlife we saw plenty of beautiful birds, lots of proboscis (and other) monkeys, even orangutans and a mesmerising experience with elephants coming up close to the lodge. It was absolutely phenomenal and I can most certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit a bit of the jungle in Borneo.

The 2 nights, 3 days I stayed here were some of the best days of my life! Absolutely incredible - we went for the nature and were not disappointed - we saw the Borneo Big 5 plus TONS more. Our guide Ryan was the best - his eagle eye and determination meant we were able to see all this.
The staff were super friendly and catered for my vegan diet, accommodation is very basic but this is perfect for a few days off the grid, rooms were clean and comfy we even had a large Gecko for company :)

Great location, nearby the orangutan rehabilitation center and Forest. Resort has wonderful walkways to spot wildlife and relax in the communal areas. We where able to visit nearby lodges for great food and atmosphere within a short walking distance too
The female dorm was great, comfortable & clean. The lodge is a short walk from all of the activities in Sepilok and they can help you reserve the Rainforest center night walk, which books up. The food in the restaurant was good and not as expensive as some of the other lodges in Sepilok.
Lodges were spacious cool clean and brand new bathrooms. Resort location is perfect. Much quieter than the other resorts.
