Alison is a warm and gregarious host of a wonderful and isolated hostel. Rivendell is one of the most remote hostels close to the Caldera National Park and the environment reflects this. Come here if you are seeking some peace. The night sky is breathtaking - you can see the stars without light pollution. The views down the valley are second to none. The hiking trail along the riverbed into the Caldera National Park is very convenient. The facilities are very good, the breakfast is simple but satisfying (bread, home made yoghurt, fruit, muesli, etc).
