Everything was perfect : the quiet place, the comfort of the lodge and the warm welcome of Marion, Declan, the two little dogs and the ducks ! Very highly recommanded

From the food, drink, hospitality from the staff and fellow customers. Entertainment was also fantastic with the great Brendan Quinn performing. The setting and surrounding area makes you realize how wonderful our country of Ireland is. Can't wait to book a weekend there very soon

The lodge offers a buffet or continental breakfast. The quirky but extremely thoughtful finishes. The amazingly well equipped and spotless kitchen for our meal prep. The comfy sitting room with plenty wood and kindling for a cozy fire. We stayed in the bunked railway carriage. Comfy beds with crisp good quality bed linen. The beautiful out door area the quietness the whirring of the watermill . In other words everything !

Located in Ardara, 10 km from Narin & Portnoo Golf Club and 26 km from Glencolumbkille Folk Village, Abbey Lodge - Room 1 provides accommodation with free WiFi and a garden with a terrace and sea views. We stayed in room 2 which was gorgeous. We had a separate area with double bed with doorway to another area with bunks and table area. There was also an en-suite shower room. Our room was modern and tastefully decorated, we were very pleasantly surprised! The view from our room, right from the bed, was straight over the mountains. If you sit outside on the chairs you get the full view of both the mountains and the sea, stunning. There was a self check in system so we didn’t meet our host, but her communication throughout the stay was Evans she was very helpful. As stated, there are. No cooking facilities, but there was a fridge, kettle and tea and coffee. There are cups, glasses and cutlery but no plates or bowls. We were touring on motorcycles and there was plenty of room to store and dry all of our gear. Ardara town is lovely with lots of gift shops and pubs. There is a garage and a general store a few minutes walk away for supplies with the main town about 5 minutes walk. Would definitely recommend this property and be delighted to return.
