Our stay at this lodge was nothing short of a fairy tale come to life. We had an absolutely enchanting experience here during our honeymoon! Nestled amidst lush greenery, it was the perfect romantic retreat. Waking up to the gentle symphony of birdsong every morning added a touch of magic to our stay. The villas were beyond excellent – spacious, elegantly designed, and with all the amenities one could wish for. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like family, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. After a disappointing experience at another accommodation in the north, we decided to return to this lodge for a few additional nights. And we're so glad we did! The staff welcomed us back with open arms and even upgraded us to another villa at the same price as our initial one. Their generosity and commitment to guest satisfaction truly set them apart. We also want to give a special shoutout to Allen, the cab driver recommended by the lodge. His insights and recommendations transformed each trip around the island into a personalized adventure. La Vieille Cheminée is situated on a 200-acre farm in Charamel and is surrounded by two rivers, indigenous trees and forest. It features an outdoor swimming pool, terrace and garden. This was a truly amazing place! We stayed in a smaller cottage (le Percheur) which was perfect for two. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The breakfast was brought to the cottage. We ordered dinner one day and it was waiting for us in the fridge when we got back from our day activities, just for us to heat it up. The surroundings and the little pool are also very nice.
