This lodge features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Staff was amazing! They even let us to leave our car in a parking lot after check out. We definetly would like to stay here again.

First of all, the location is great. The property is in the middle of a nature reserve and all the trails start from the lodge. It gives you a chance to leave early and easily beat the crowds. The staff were all very friendly and really helpful. They were great. The rooms and communal area are tastefully decorated. Rituals soap and shampoo are begin offered. All and all, the lodge has a nice vibe. We liked the fact that the breakfast and dinner were put out for us to eat when we wanted. Each room is allocated a fridge partly for that purpose.

WE love Madeira! We lodged in this place during our 1st stay in 2002. Opossite is a very good fish restaurant. From former stay there is very usefull pavement around Praia Formosa. Nice restaurants with exclent view. The Portuguese are nice people.

The perfect escape location with exceptionally high standard facilities. The lodge is huge and beautiful in equal measure. The perfect place to explore the Madeiran mountains but also if you're exploring Funchal but keen to have some serene evenings. We were able to cook our own food but enjoyed the cafe restaurant only 5-10 minute walk away (which does amazing hot chocolate!). The host was friendly and helpful. Please don't hesitate to book here.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Mountain Eco Shelter. The location is beautiful - the lodges are in a beautiful Ecological Park full of plants and flowers. You can do hikes directly from the lodges. The lodges themselves have everything you need - a great kitchen, a comfortable bed and a balcony with a stunning view. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. There’s even a snackbar down the road where you can grab dinner & drinks. We loved every minute of our stay here and we are already planning to come back again.
