The area is surrounded by stunning fells to explore, and Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth, is 15 minutes’ drive away. Our stay at Glencree absolutely exceeded our expectations! The room was gorgeous, very modern and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious, with a selection of cereals to choose from, fresh fruit and breakfast cooked to order. Great location, and lots of parking in the church across the road if the guest spots are taken. Would highly recommend Glencree to anyone looking for a stay in Windermere.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels.

High ceilings in this traditional stone-built house give rooms a light, spacious feel. Beds are adorned in Egyptian cotton linen and there are also TVs and free Wi-Fi in rooms. Excellent location! Very close to the lake a shops. Lovely and clean room. The hosts were extremely kind, warm and helpful. Enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon! Will definitely recommend this to others!

String of Horses lies in the middle of one of the most beautiful and historic areas of Britain: near Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District and the Scottish borders. Beautiful room, great bathroom. Excellent dinner in the restaurant. Cooked breakfast included in room rate was very nice

The bar has an open fire, and the lounge has a warming fire and stunning views through the picture windows. Everything! Such a great. relaxing and special place to stay. We planned to eat out in Keswick some evenings as we were staying for 3 nights. However we couldn’t drag ourselves away as the food was all fantastic. We also loved the way that dogs were treated. They could go everywhere too. They even had a sink outside for muddy paws with warm water and fresh towels.

It was a wonderfully warm and comfortable room and bed, with a welcoming bath. Breakfast was in the room - great selection of hot food, toast, juices, tea and French press coffee.

The location is remote but absolutely beautiful. Food was very good.

Our apartment was well-stocked, spacious and clean, with an amazingly comfortable bed and fantastic shower. The location is great for walking, and parking was really easy. We really felt like it was our home from home for those few days. Will definitely be returning.
