The hotel has 5 hot-spring baths and serves local specialities for dinner. Literally everything. The hotel is an amazing 300+ year old guest house and scenery from the rooms is amazing. This is a must go Onsen Hotel!

Female & Male public bath did interchange each other for evening and morning session, so we can enjoy both facilities. They even have massage chairs in the public bath area for free. Sadly if there is chance to purchase milk/ yogurt after onsen, it will be perfect! The breakfast and dinner are nice too. Breakfast is semi-buffet with quite a lot of salad & drink provided. When we mentioned one of us has certain food allergy, the manager checked in details to ensure everything is alright.

The customer service was beyond excellent, the staff were very attentive and caring and accommodating. The hotel is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. the room was spacious, comfortable, gorgeous with massive picture windows. It's out in nature, no wires or buildings or people in sight. The included breakfast, which they adapted to be vegetarian for me, was one of the best and healthiest meals we had in all of our Japan travels.

The staff was wonderful. Our room was perfect, as was the ensuite onsen bath, and the food was delicious. We loved our time at Fufu Nikko!

Fantastic experience I believe we were the only westerners there during our 2 night stay The service from the staff was the best we have ever experienced Everyone from the porter, front desk, kitchen and wait staff were fantastic The level of English was quite basic but this did not hinder our enjoyment at all The onsens really are as big and beautiful as the pictures suggest Westerners should not be afraid of the experience, they have a helpful guide on their website. Please be aware that guests with tattoos are not allowed in the public onsens (this applies for the majority of onsens but some places do cater for tattooed guests) The full Ryokan meal service was incredible So many flavours with the highest quality seasonal ingredients, all presented beautifully on incredible crockery We stayed in a Japanese style room in the east building which allowed us to enjoy a private room experience. Please check with the hotel if they will be able to accommodate this for you, it is worth it in my opinion A special thank you to the kitchen staff who were so delightful We had a travel mishap and phoned ahead to let them know we would be 30 minutes late (we were already booked on the last available time slot). They were very kind in accommodating us and did not rush us through our meal Excellent value for money, we were so satisfied with the experience Fantastic stay, we were sad to leave and we would love to return on our next trip to Japan

This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space. The property is non-smoking and is located 21 km from Tobu Nikko Station. The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were clearly the highlight of the stay. They might arguably have been worth the entire cost of the stay, and make the ryokan itself a destination for a quick trip from Tokyo. The setting is beautiful, looking down over a rushing mountain river. The staff were attentive and seemed to be genuinely sweet and caring people.

Luxurious rooms have an outdoor seating area overlooking Kinugawa River, floor-to-ceiling windows and a living area with a tatami (woven-straw) floor and flat-screen TV. Amenities include a DVD player, a humidifier and yukata robes. The bathroom comes with toiletries, while nightwear is provided. If you are looking for a real treat, look no further. This hotel is a complete experience in itself.
