Kandalama Heritance is a 20-minute drive from UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the 2,000-year-old cave temple at Dambulla and the Sigiriya rock fortress. The 5-star hotel is a 3.5-hour drive from the airport. What an amazing experience staying at this hotel. It felt like they had thought of everything from live music, magicians, music in the bathrooms and such a beautiful setting in the forest/jungle. The monkeys are so fun to watch especially the ones with the black faces. Yes this hotel is on the higher price point but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and attention from the many staff. Everything can be arranged by the reception with many experiences or a tuk tuk if you need to go to Dambulla. The buffet dinner is amazing with so much to choose from and of high quality and the buffet breakfast is delicious also.

Both Anjula and Madu were the perfect guides and company, they told and showed us about their culture. We are so glad we get to spend time with them in our last days in the island, made it even harder to leave! Property details: The location is perfect, close to the rocks and view points. It is also very close to the restaurants but you may prefer eating in because Madu makes the best rice and curry. Both the room and common areas were so clean, beyond the standarts of the country. And most importantly, I am working remotely and for the first time the wifi was so smooth.

The ambiance of the restaurant, paired with the exquisite flavors, was truly unforgettable. Overall, Jetwing Lake is a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty. Featuring garden views, Isanka Lion Lodge in Sigiriya features accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a restaurant. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Beautiful small hotel with swimming pool. Large rooms with AC and ceiling fan. Mini fridge. Hot and cold showers. Hosts were extremely helpful. Short tuktuk drive to lion rock. Hotel arranged safari half day trip where we saw loads of elephants as well as a day trip to polonnaruwa ancient ruins in a jeep and gave us a tuktuk rides wherever we needed including early morning to lions rock. Breakfast was amazing, home made fresh every morning, tea, coffee, toast with butter and jam, fresh fruits and some local sri lankan breakfast items which varied each day but were all delicious. Provided bottle drinking water and pool towels. Right in the middle of nature with 100s of birds in the garden. Short walk to multiple restaurants.
