The staff were helpful. The service at breakfast was good since we needed a few extra bits. The rooms were clean and it's about an hour drive roughly from other tourist attractions . It's a good location and price was affordable. There isn't much parking at the hotel but across the road there's a big parking space which I think you pay for but we got it free for all the days since I think it was bank holiday we only had to let the front desk know they asked us to register on their system .

Most awfull expierence. Registration lady terrbble. Room terrible. They book 3 adults and 2 baby’s start to problems because they counting baby like adult. Police visitings like normal thing. Just disgusting stay with disgusting service.

I was extremly impressed by the happy staff, in perticular the north london waiter ,who was exceptionally polite freindly and professional . I do have a reguler column in the lancashire and lake district life magazine and will be writing about my stay in a future edition.

Excellent location, 2 minutes walk from centre of Ambleside. Room was comfortable and clean, ensuite small but functional with powerful and hot shower. Free car park (in public car park to rear of property using disc, which also gave access to other parking sites). The binmen come fairly early on a Thursday, which woke my wife, but otherwise room was quiet, despite nearby road. No breakfast option, which we prefer, and this contributed to great value for money. Host readily available and very helpful.

Everything really but particularly the excellent breakfast. I had the full Cumbria breakfast both mornings. They also do free coffee and cake between 3 and 5 each afternoon. No bar in the hotel but they had an honesty bar which was well stocked with beers, spirits and nibbles. Just take what you want and log it in the register and settle up at checkout. Lots of comfortable seating areas with great views. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful.

Only a 10 minute walk away from everything, room absolutely amazing and good edition of the health club access , It was lush !

the main attribute of the hotel was the staff. they were all charming helpful and went out of their way to help. they gave me a special parking place with my blue badge and generally did helpful things. the map is annotated with helpful comments and there seemed to be a genuine wish for us to have a nice time. asian restaurant excellent and again staff good.

Outstanding location, beautiful property; has a character and charm that tap into the origins, history and ideals of the YHA movement itself - ample materials supplied about these. The staff were amazingly friendly and welcoming. They contribute enormously to making a visitor’s stay even more memorable. Both helpful and kind at all times. Excellent!
