Our host was welcoming and informative and gave us the scoop on his retro highway 66 motel in this small town. Our reasonably priced room included everything we needed. We loved the spotless room decorated in New 60's decor, especially the green and pink bathroom! Our funny host made sure that we were comfortable-even waved goodbye! The lady at the desk didn't seem excited at all to have customer. WIFI never worked. Saying a motel is on old Route 66 doesn't mean paint peeling off, musty smells and nothing appealing. I generally like being able to drive up to my room, rather than park in a lot and walk into a building to get to my room. Room was clean and quiet. The town appears to close up around nine, and there was no traffic to speak of. Breakfast was good, including the normal free hot breakfast items. We even had a the pleasure of meeting a man named Tye there, he sang us a few songs, told fascinating life stories and is the local "town artist"..
