Highly accessible from the Panamericana, this place offers amazing food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (many people stop here on their way up or down the Cotopaxi as the restaurant is renown all-around for its great food). Our host Fernando made sure we had everything covered and organized daily tours to any destinations (Illinizas, Cotopaxi Park etc.) with his guides. Ideal location to start summit to Iliniza Norte or Sur, or just do hiking. Frank, the landlord, is a nice and helpful guy who can rent climbing gear for very affordable prices and provide any sort of advice and sort your problems. Recommend Iliniza Wasi for hikers and climbers.

If I could give this place more than ten, I would. Our stay there was wonderful and Paulina was simply the loveliest host I have ever met on my travels. Her mother also cooked us a three course meal that was delicious and enormous - and for a ridiculously low price. The Lodge has a variety of accommodations and a lovely lounge with wood fire. Outside are two llamas and two sheep! The location is on the road from the PanAmericana to the gate of the Cotopaxi National Park so is perfectly situated. Paulina is extremely knowledgable about the area and we were so grateful that she spoke English so that we could talk to her and learn from her. We had originally planned to stay somewhere else but a medical issue required a change of plans - and we are so grateful that we ended up at Rumipaxi Lodge.

The hotel is a modern and clean boutique place and they offer to park nearby. The city center of Latacunga. Service was impeccable and breakfast was buffet style, small but very good, and different options. I've to say that the shower was the best shower with hot water and pressure we had and the soap is awesome too!
